"Advanced treatment technology for minor sports-related wounds is now available to the outdoor market with Spyroflex? dressings. Spyroflex dressings promote faster, more effective healing of injuries by creating a moist-healing environment, and are recommended for abrasions, blisters, cuts, superficial burns and other maladies commonly encountered when enjoying outdoor activities. Pioneered in the 1960?s by Dr. G.D. Winter, the concept of moist healing is now widely accepted as a more effective way to accelerate wound healing than leaving the wound exposed to air. Spyroflex dressings help create and sustain that moist-healing environment by forming a breathable, flexible, water resistant barrier. The dressings utilize an engineered two-layer construction to protect the wound against external contamination and help control fluids and breathability. In addition to accelerated healing, Spyroflex dressings help reduce pain by keeping nerve endings hydrated, and minimize scarring by helping prevent the formation of scabs. Self-adhesive Spyroflex dressings are widely used in hospitals and are ideal for outdoor sports enthusiasts because of their ease of use, flexibility, water resistance and durability. The dressings may be worn up to 7 days, and can be used even while participating in such water sports as rafting and kayaking. Spyroflex dressings are available in sterile 4? x 4? Abrasion Dressings, sterile 2? x 2? Blister Dressings, and kidney-shaped Skin Savers. All three versions are easily cut or trimmed to better fit the wound size. And the self-adhesive coating won?t adhere to the moist wound."
